Five Specialities that can never be provided in any place of the world

1- Much Sunshine:

One of the wonders of Antalya is the sun blazing and glittering over the tops of the date-trees along 300 days of the year in amazing continuity. Don't you think that one of the reasons of coming of Cleopatra, the pompous Queen of Egypt, to this land is to watch the sunset on the horizon in its grandeur in every season of the year?... The skin of the man has been brown by the effect of the Antalya sunshine together with the saltywater of the Mediterranean Sea in the real meaning of the word. The weather has beaten the face and the skin of the people who live in this region is such a way that their colour and character aren't changed by ths force of the time.

2- The Sea

150 km - stretch of opulent sand, excluding southern coastline, is available for bathing, and gently sweeping currents and with its changing colours resemble a watery paradise. Just in the west of the City Konyaalti (Koyalti) Beach has a kind of pebble-like sand which never hurts one's foot being washed up for many centurşes by the waves of the sea. The sand of 'Lara Beach' is finer. Further to the east it will be more finer, and so that the very fine sand of 'Incekum Beach' as it is called, comes into being. At the foot of the cliffs it is dangerous to enter into the sea. But for swimmers the inviting warm water as blue as the sky will be a paradise of water.

3- Hospitality

Throughout their long histoy, the Antalya people have been well-known for their inborn hospitality. They are sincere and straightforward and agreeable in their behaviour. The Turkish people already regard the tourist as a guest and do their utmost to make him happy and give a feeling at home. The only thing to be done before arriving in Antalya is to have reservation in a hotel, or it is possible to sleep in a park or in the ruins as hippies of today do!... At first I also felt the same hesitation, but later I found that it was a vain consideration because any door you knock at  will offer you a bed to sleep in without hesitation. This is the overwhelming attitude which has been withnessed by many visitors to this City. Such a person is "Hamdi, the captain" and many others. This nationwide, realistic impression of the Turkish people is a pride for us indeed! They will invite you to breakfast in twitters of the doves in the morning. The inhabitats are brown. Gentle and well-mannered. They try to solve your problems as if their own. I migh boldly put forward that there is no word of "never-mind" in their dictionary.
Let's mention those words of Ataturk, the Saviour of Turkey. " You must realize that  so much beauty on earth, so that man might enjoy it. Our contry deserves to the highest degree, to become a paradise, the more so as Turks are the friends all civilized nations"

4- Historical Background

Antalya is really a treasure of history. Its history goes back over 7000 years, and its recorded history begins with the Persians though much of the past is stişll not explained and remains mythical.
Begining from the 7th Century B.C. this land was powered by the persians, the Greeks, The Romans, The Byzantines, The Seljuk and the Ottomans whose empire flourished like a thundering waterfall from the 14th to the 20th Centuries. The armies of Alexander the Great had experienced their first defeat in this soil of Termossos. And Cleopatra from Egypt had her soul subrided and lulled only in this country. The ruins of Perge, Aspendos, Side and Termossos which had had the populations in thousands in their period are full of spectacular and monumental masterpieces that still dazzle the eye in their awesome and eloquent artistry today. Also the museums of Antalya, Alanya and Side are overfilled with priceless statues, sarcaphaguses, and other sorts of monuments or the Ancient World mentioned above.

5- Cheapness

Antalya is one of the cheapest cities of Asia Minor. Hotels, motels and restaurands are indeed clean and cheap and confortable. The bestbread is baked in this City. Every kind of fruits is obtainable, but specially orange, tangerine and banana are the favourites. you can have fresh fish in every season. It is another enjoyment to have a trip around the city in carriages with their bells jingling in a lullaby.

5/3/2008 - A DAZZLING PARADISE OF NATURE, HISTORY AND SUN ! ANTALYA - TURKE

A DAZZLING PARADISE OF NATURE, HISTORY AND SUN!

Legendary Anatolia, or Asia Minor is one of the countries surrounding the Miditerranean Sea which was eventually the birth-place of a bold and unsurpassed civilization for centuries. This peninsula of the Turkish Republic has the coastline on the Mediterranean Sea, almost half of which is the border of Antalya City. The wonders still stand there today, even in ruins, in its power to amaze - though the excellency of iyd monuments, its spectacular tombs and, above all, the awesome span of time through which its greatness has survived.  Its is God's work that country was rich in art and accomplishment while Europe was in its Stone age, and also to its life it was so gratifying that man asked better nothing but eternity than to go living in a close replica of this fruitful earth he loved.

They in fact engineered intricate irrgation systems, developed mathematics, mined useful and precious ores, traded with lands over sea, perfected the techniques of administration and government.

Perhaps you have heard about the enchantments of this miracle land though some epochs told by the visitors of Antalya. You will see that it is really no exaggeration in telling and applauding this truth wherever you enter into the City. On both sides of the streets datetrees soar up into the sky, and in the middle of the streets water flows in canals in a never-failing continuity and serenity. Those are the first vivid specialities that will welcome you.

It has a large and radiant Park embellished with motley-kind of flowers and trees. Its south is the sea, and the cliffs are often rocky and sleep, and they form a ntural border in the height of 50 or 60 meters in the south of the City, and those cliffs stretch along the shore 10 or 12 kilometres long. Rivers and streams, the sources of which are actually in the Taurus Mountains, pour down in  thunder over the cataracts on its way into the sea along this coast. Another wonder for the visitors who won't really be albe to see any other similar to this! The water comes down over the cliffs in such a way that million of water-dews in atoms look like a misty dust embracing the gloomy sea.

'Lara, Karpuzkaldiran, Mermerli' Beaches near the Park, and 'Adalar , Konyaalti' Beaches in the east are some that can provide good-bathing for the vacationers. After 'Konyaalti Beach' towards the west. 'Arapsuyu Beach , is another one which was turned to be mocamps by the Antalya Tourism and information Society.

Whenever the vacationer visits Denizli (Hierapolis). Konya and Adana they are bound to call at Antalya. Because those cities are so near to Antalya. And also you will find priceless treasures of the historical masterpieces as well as the two sophistications mentioned above such an incomparable treasure that you will ask yourself in a moment and try to give an answer to how even one huge stone, in tons, of the facade of the theatre of Perge had been hauled up 20 or 25 metres high by the use of levers, ropes and manpower only; and  further why and for whom the theatre in Side had been constructed so large; and then today why no human beings live except birds in Termossos which once had a population of 150.000 and which Alexander the Great hadn't been able to conquer.
